The Ball point or Jersey needle has a tip which is more rounded than the Universal type which allows it to pass through the fabric between the thread rather than piercing them. They will ensure better and more even stitching on knitted fabrics such as jersey, interlocks and other knits which snag or run easily. They can also help to prevent skipped stitches if these occur when sewing these types of fabrics.
